What is a TARIC code?

TARIC (Integrated Tariff of the European Communities) is a 10-digit code used for imports into the EU. It extends the Combined Nomenclature (CN, 8 digits) with 2 extra digits to apply EU-specific measures (duties, quotas, anti-dumping, prohibitions). It is mandatory on every customs declaration.

What is the difference between TARIC, CN and HS codes?

HS (6 digits) is the global WCO nomenclature used by 200+ countries. CN (8 digits) adds European subheadings. TARIC (10 digits) adds EU-specific measures. CN/HS is used for exports outside the EU, TARIC for imports into the EU.

Is the data up to date?

Yes. Official 2026 TARIC nomenclature (25,691 codes). Duty rates are synced monthly from CIRCABC (DG TAXUD) on the 5th of each month.
